Your opportunity to join our team

As Purchasing Officer you will work with and report to the Engineering Manager. You will be responsible for ensuring all data-keeping duties, inventory management, and the coordination and execution of procurement activities take place, ensuring on-time and within budget.

Daily Tasks

• Coordinate and execute procurement activities for the manufacturing process, ensuring on-time purchase order placement
• Liaise with internal staff to facilitate seamless communication and workflow
• Cultivate strong relationships with external suppliers and vendors to ensure continuous supply agreements
• Lead inventory improvements and enhance accuracy and efficiency
• Support the Maintenance Department in day-to-day tasks, including entering new sales orders, closing assembly orders, and maintaining production planning.
• Check inward goods against order and quality requirements.
• Review orders and look for opportunities for cost saving and benefit to Inghams.

You will bring to this role

• Strong computer skills and high attention to detail
• Good communication skills - verbal and written.
• Excellent organisation/time management skills.
• Ability to manage fluctuating workloads and conflicting priorities
• Maximo/ BPCS experience would be advantageous
• Fast learner
• Strong data keeping skills
