School Profile

Cranbourne East Primary School is an exciting state of the art facility built under the Partnerships Victoria in Schools Project (PViS), which opened at the start of 2011. The school is built for a long-term student enrolment of 450 students, however due to ongoing and rapid enrolment growth this figure has been surpassed with current enrolment at 1111 students. It is likely the school will continue to experience rapid enrolment growth.

A differentiated, inclusive and co-teaching curriculum model is implemented to meet the diverse needs of all students. This model is child centred and operates in a learning environment that encapsulates complimentary alignment of space, pedagogy, belief and values. The cutting edge, purpose-designed facilities reflect a twenty-first century educational approach to teaching and learning through the provision of open flexible learning areas capable of catering for a range of student groupings.

The core purpose is to help children grow into lifelong learners and future citizens. The school is a place that encourages and enables professional learning and effective teamwork as well as developing a strong, welcoming and inclusive school community.

The building is designed around innovative learning spaces and flexible multipurpose learning neighbourhoods. In addition, there are cutting edge Performing Arts and Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) learning spaces, a Learning Resource Centre, Music studio, technology rich resource hubs (notebook computers, iPads, interactive TV¿s), football oval and soccer pitch, and indoor gymnasium. There are two sheltered playgrounds as well as a Pirate Ship playground and sandpit, and environmental wetlands.

Cranbourne East Primary School is located in the Hunt Club Estate in one of the fastest growth areas in the South Eastern growth corridor. The school is located at No 2 Bowyer Avenue.

The school is co-located with Cranbourne East Secondary College, Marnebek Specialist School (Outpost) and shares facilities including the gymnasium, theatre, soccer ground and football oval. Shared-use facilities are a valued feature of this school site. A three-room kindergarten and maternal health centre and sports pavilion have been constructed by the City of Casey adjacent to the school site.

Selection Criteria

SC1  Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective team member, displaying initiative, accuracy and reliability while maintaining high level of confidentiality.

SC2  Demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills.

SC3  Demonstrated capacity to develop procedures and guidelines relating to work area.

SC4  Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks to support office operations and provide advice to the leadership team.

SC5  Demonstrated commitment to professional learning and growth for both self and others.

Role

This role will require expertise in Student administration and reception.  The successful applicant will be highly experienced in organising and prioritising work to ensure that all office/school policies are understood and followed; work expectations, standards and deadlines are being met.

You will work independently and as part of a team under the supervision of the Business Manager with the focus of maintaining effective and informative communication with parents, staff, students, service providers and the wider school community.

Qualities necessary to be the successful applicant:

  • Exceptional reception and telephone skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management
  • A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently

Hours 8:30am ¿ 4:36pm Tuesday to Friday

Responsibilities
  • As the first point of contact to the school, provide a welcoming and professional environment for all parents, students, staff and visitors.
  • Answer telephone calls promptly, courteously and efficiently and forward messages in a timely manner.
  • Attend to reception enquiries and ensure correct screening and sign in of visitors.
  • Communicate in a positive and effective manner with staff, students, parents and the school community.
  • Efficient use of Compass system to support the Cases21 operations.
  • Understanding of school policies, procedures and expectations and ensuring these are adhered to.
  • Awareness of the activities and events of the college in order to provide information to staff, students, parents and members of the wider community.
  • Maintain record systems, including computerised student and school records using Compass and Cases21. 
  • Provide support to the First Aid Officer as required.

·         Other duties as directed by the Principal or Business Manager.
