With the current financial climate affecting so many, we're looking for a new Relationship Officer to help us make an even bigger impact.

Who We Are Looking For in Our Relationship Officer:

As a Relationship Officer, your role would be to stand up for our clients’ rights, bridging the gap between our clients and their creditors in order to negotiate favourable outcomes on their behalf. You'll be working with a team of passionate and driven individuals who are committed to making a real difference in people's lives. You’ll be surprised and delighted by the results and subsequent life-altering impact we have on the lives of our clients and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with a supportive team of Angels to create positive outcomes. 
  • Client Advocacy: Manage client concerns and implement unique debt relief strategies. 
  • Communication, Negotiation, and Interpersonal Skills: Interact effectively with diverse individuals, establish trusted relationships, and maintain confidentiality. Possess excellent negotiating skills and demonstrate confidence and firmness, while maintaining a non-aggressive approach when negotiating with creditors.
  • Organisation & Adaptability: Handle client accounts with sensitivity and maintain thorough records. 
  • Proactive Follow-Up: Ensure timely adherence to deadlines, proactively engage with creditors, and serve as their primary contact point. 
  • Issue Resolution: Proposing potential solutions to creditors to secure favourable outcomes for our clients.
  • Creditor Liaison: Serve as the conduit between the client and their creditors, facilitating communication and negotiations.
  • Task Management and Communication: Interact with various stakeholders, including clients and creditors, to complete tasks such as dealing with creditors, arranging payment plans, following up on documentation, and serving as the first point of contact for the creditor.
  • Debt Management Planning: Collaborate with the team to create and implement personalised 'Get-Out-Of-Debt Strategies’ to resolve the clients’ financial challenges effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across all company processes and stakeholder interactions.
  • Email Correspondence: Draft and send emails to creditors, and departments on behalf of clients, maintaining professionalism and accuracy.
  • Confidentiality and Empathy: Handle client information with utmost confidentiality and approach all interactions with empathy and understanding, free from judgment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Customer Service Excellence: Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years' experience in customer service, financial services, or related fields.
  • Savvy Money Management: Experience or proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, and money management is highly advantageous. A background or familiarity with the finance industry, even in a limited capacity, is also beneficial.
  • Efficient Multitasking: Proficiency and thoroughness in multitasking within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving Proficiency: Display excellent out-of-the-box problem-solving abilities, efficiently resolving issues as they arise.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, coupled with exceptional organisational abilities.
  • Meticulous Attention to Detail: Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all tasks and interactions.
  • Administrative Competence: Previous administration experience within the financial services or insurance industry is highly desirable.
  • Independent Work Ethic: Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset: Demonstrate a capacity for constant self-improvement and the ability to optimise available opportunities.

Special Conditions:

  • Five (5) days, 38 hours per week.
  • Additional duties and flexible work arrangements may be negotiated for the right applicant, after appointment and training.
  • Comply with all Debt Angel Solutions' policies, procedures and processes. 
  • Must be able to provide a recent (<3 months) National Police Check (NPC) and, a bankruptcy check, if offered the role.
  • Must participate in development reviews and any regular supervisory meetings.
