Our client are one of Australia’s favourite wineries based in Nagambie, Victoria. Their venue includes beautiful vineyards, a newly built hotel equipped with pool and spa, along with restaurants, where visitors can discover a 5 star dining experience. They are a market leading brand within the wine industry and are part of a larger group of venues. They are passionate about sustainable and ethical farming methods, sourcing produce from local suppliers and creating an enjoyable experience for both visitors and employees.
The Role
As the Restaurant Manager you will manage a team of 25-30 staff in a 5 star venue, overseeing daily operations and providing top class customer service.
Duties include:
- Taking initial customer enquiries for the Restaurant via email, phone or in person and following the enquiry through the booking process.
- This process includes initial booking, in-putting into the booking system, ticketing, confirmation letters, payments, invoices.
- Assist in allocating seating for multiple restaurants by using the online booking platform to run event attendee reports.
- Provide administration support to the Sales and Event Planning Department by producing event proposals and contracts in a timely manner.
- Order Stock to fulfil function requirements.
- Processing credit card payments
- Drafting and designing event menus for proofing
- Producing function table labels and printing floor plans
- Keep function wristbands in orderly state and maintain levels
- Other Admin duties in preparation for Event days
- Achieve set Key Performance Indicators as varied from time to time
- Ensuring any updates to reservations are communicated to relevant staff members in the required time frames.
- Assisting on a rotating roster
- Assisting with reception duties as directed by management where required
- Any other duties as directed.
What you need
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager
- Excellent knowledge of food and wine
- Leadership experience in managing large teams
- Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
- Proven ability to train, motivate, and lead staff
- Strong back-of-house administration skills, including rostering
- Capable of planning, forecasting, and recruiting front-of-house staff
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Immaculate presentation and a lead-by-example mentality
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a confident, engaging, and professional approach
