Senior Accountant

Make an impact as a Senior Accountant for a local council in Colac!
About the role
You will be involved in maintaining and enhancing the Council’s accounting systems and ensure all maintenance, changes and upgrades are implemented in accordance with Financial Services requirements.
The Assignment

• Immediate start until 31st May 2024
• Location: Colac / work from home
• $50-65/hr + super

What you will do

• System Accounting - Monitor financial systems for data integrity, identify potential control issues and oversee the timely resolution of these issues
• Recommend, implement and maintain Council’s asset accounting systems and registers.
• Provide organisational and team support in developing the Annual Budget and Council’s Long-Term Financial Plan
• Participate in the Business Partnering process
• Prepare data and audit files for the external audit.
• Assist other areas of the Financial Services Unit to ensure all duties of the unit are undertaken in a timely manner.

Please note the successful candidate must be willing to obtain a national police check.
