Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document requirements for data migration projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Data Profiling: Utilize analytical tools and techniques to profile data from various sources, identifying patterns, anomalies, and inconsistencies to inform migration strategies.
- Mapping and Transformation: Work closely with technical teams to develop data mapping documents, specifying how data elements will be transformed and loaded into target systems while maintaining data integrity and quality.
- Data Quality Assurance: Develop and execute test plans to validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency throughout the migration process, troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between business users, IT teams, and external vendors, providing regular updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and facilitating decision-making.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation of data migration processes, including migration requirements, mapping specifications, test plans, and post-migration support procedures.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users to ensure a smooth transition to new systems and processes, addressing any questions or concerns related to data migration.
Skills Required:
- Proficient with SQL for data profiling
- Documenting requirements for re-mapping data from old source to new source
- Examining Alteryx workflow that we are looking to reengineer in our data warehouse, assess how data is being transported and logic applied.
- Examining tableau reports and logic used across its data sets
- Documenting migration requirements, data flows and business rules into epics to hand over to delivery teams to implement.
