About this Position
Are you a seasoned relationship builder with a penchant for nurturing long-term connections? We're seeking a Senior Business Development Manager who thrives in fostering meaningful relationships and is experienced in leading complex Business Development techniques across diverse sectors and disciplines. Unlike traditional Business Development roles, this position offers a unique opportunity to engage across multiple sectors, with a predominant focus on Healthcare, Science and Medical portfolios. You'll have the privilege of collaborating with brilliant minds and innovators who are revolutionising healthcare through groundbreaking advancements.
The role
- Manage a portfolio of potential national and international conference bidding opportunities, focusing on lead qualification and development to then collaboration with the Bidding Team.
- Cultivate and manage client relationships across multiple sectors with the key focus on Healthcare and Medical sector, emphasizing multi-stakeholder account management and complex sales process management.
- Navigate complexities to tailor solutions for individual leads, considering diverse stakeholder requirements and preferences.
- Analyse and enhance a large pool of prospect leads through in-depth research, stakeholder engagement and qualification assessments.
- You will have the opportunity to travel Interstate.
- Attending various Business Development, sector/industry events and partner presentations.
- Collaborative actively with the Club Melbourne Ambassador Program
- And support site inspections as needed.
About you
To be successful
- Tertiary qualifications.
- Proven experience in Business Development and complex sales across multiple industry sectors (minimum five years).
- Proven experience of working with C-suite and senior stakeholders
- Proven experience of securing large commercial deals or partnerships.
- Strong presentation and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of the association, academic, and/or business events industry is highly advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational abilities with a focus on planning and prioritisation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database applications.
- Passion for events and tourism.
