The role:
With your extensive experience in Payroll, keen eye for detail, and focus on continuous improvement, you will be a trusted advisor to the organisation on all ‘things’ payroll, and responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of the City of Salisbury’s payroll, as well as undertake the coordination of payroll project initiatives.
Duties:
- Accurately prepare and produce fortnightly and monthly payrolls and ensure the timely disbursement of salaries, wages and allowances, including deductions, taxation and superannuation payments in line with the relevant Enterprise Agreements, Awards and Legislation.
- Continuously improve the payroll function ensuring that ongoing enhancements are undertaken to achieve improved processes and customer service.
- Ensure that all employees’ payroll and leave records are maintained in an accurate and confidential manner in line with the relevant Enterprise Agreements, Awards and Legislation.
- Maintain high levels of customer service by communicating payroll related information to managers and staff effectively in response to customer needs within agreed timeframes.
- Substantial experience in processing end to end payroll within a medium-large organisation.
- Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of Enterprise Agreements and Awards.
- High level of customer service skill, experience and ethos.
- Demonstrated ability to use PC based systems, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Empower at an intermediate level.
- A sound knowledge of Taxation law requirements in relation to salaries and wages.
- Previous experience with Human Resources Information Management System (HRIS).
- Knowledge and experience of the Long Service Leave Act (SA), Local Government Act (SA); and Fair Work Act (SA) will be highly regarded.
