We are looking for a strong Senior Sous Chef to join our team to assist with ensuring smooth daily kitchen operations. Providing leadership, guidance and support to the team and maintain a positive working environment.
Main Role Responsibilities:
- Oversee food production & presentation, ensuring high quality and consistency of dishes
- Assist in all sections of the kitchen when required during service
- Assist Head Chef with management of the kitchen profit and loss
- Assist Head Chef with crew rosters & ensure crew timesheets are reviewed and approved appropriately
- Ensure kitchen is ready & set up for service
- Supervise and guide BOH team during shift, ensuring quality and consistent output
- Responsible for stock control within the kitchen
- Recruit, mentor, train & develop crew members
- Experience as a Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chef looking to take the next step in an a la carte restaurant
- Exposure to high energy/ fast-paced work environment
- Asian cuisine knowledge and experience is advantageous
- Effective leadership skills with focus on staff development
- Experience in rostering, ordering and basic financials
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with proven ability to build effective relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Adaptable to change
- Solution focused
- Possess initiative
- Must be able to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
