Description:
Marsh McLennan is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Melbourne or Sydney office:
Strategy and Planning Leader - People and Culture
What can you expect?
An exciting newly-created opportunity has become available for an experienced HR Leader to join Marsh McLennan’s People function. Reporting to the Pacific Region People Leader, the Strategy and Planning Leader is a critical role. As well as partnering with senior leaders across the Pacific Mercer and Marsh businesses, this role is also key in enabling the function to develop (with the HRLT) and fulfil the business/regional people agenda (aligned to the Global People Plan).
You will provide support and program management to ensure alignment and uptake of initiatives, contribute to and manage the execution of the overall people plan and priorities, and interface with the HR and business leaders, as well as Finance, CoSec, Marketing and Communications, and other key internal stakeholders.
This role also leads reporting and workforce insights, including the focus to evolve this capability to enable business decisions to be made while also standardising and simplifying for the Marsh McLennan Pacific businesses. Additionally, you will help contribute to the preparedness and success of the Region CPO in a variety of internal and external events and stakeholder meetings. This is a great opportunity for a senior HR leader to play a broad role for an organisation with an ambitious agenda.
What is in it for you?
Play a significant role in the development of the People function, and work closely with Marsh McLennan leadership
Lead a team of HR specialists
Professional environment where your career path really matters and is supported in our global organisation
Work in a fun, dynamic, nurturing and fast-paced environment
Leading training and development programs
We will count on you to:
Partner directly with various senior leaders across the business on specific initiatives and priorities across the full HR arena as needed - organisational design, change management, performance and career, engagement, succession planning and all phases of the employee lifecycle
Facilitate the execution of the People Plan and priorities, and coordinate key operational activities
Manage the cadence of Pacific HR forums in consultation with the Pacific HR leadership team
Drive agenda, materials and follow up tracking for various meetings and forums, including for board committees
Act as a point of contact between Pacific Region People Leader and other stakeholders, providing oversight and guidance to projects of high importance
Prepare presentations and materials for Executive Committee meetings, internal colleague meetings and external engagements
Work closely with other HR colleagues on special projects, inclusive of HR plan formulation and development
Represent the HR function on cross-functional and enterprise wide working committees
Identify and enable improved quality of reporting and insights that will enable business decisions
Actively seek opportunities to standardise and simplify across Marsh, Mercer, Oliver Wyman and Guy Carpenter
Manage people metrics reporting and creation of materials for various Executive Committees, including identifying and investigating key trends
Perform program management including monitoring progress against deadlines and milestones, as well as creating report outs for leaders
Manage regulatory reporting requirements and coordinate external stakeholder requirements
What you need to have:
Previous senior HR partnering experience with c-suite executives
Solid project planning experience, specifically HR related projects – able to define requirements, identify and mitigate risks, deliver to milestones and manage change
Strong numerical skills – able to analyse data and provide meaningful insights
Experience working within a matrix and global organisation – influencing without formal authority and holding others accountable to get work completed
A track record of being involved with creating annual business plans
Solution-oriented mindset and the ability to work with and influence various stakeholders
Comfort with ambiguity and proven ability to create clarity
Professional demeanour with strong written and oral communication skills, including developing coherent and concise papers and presentations
Analytical capabilities and strong business and financial acumen
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a discrete manner
