The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Technical Specialist to join our Operations team in Mount Isa QLD on a permanent full-time basis.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will play a key role in supporting our Operations and Maintenance teams across APA. This role forms an important part of the operations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Focus on continuous improvement for power operations by investigating and adopting innovative technologies or processes that enables a team to deliver the highest level of assets performance and reliability.
- When required have a hands on approach.
- Drive critical spare assessments.
- Manage and support O&M readiness programs for new NWPS assets.
- Manage and support Operational change programs from the introduction of new assets or changes to meet customer needs.
- Perform and assist with the review of OIM, Trip Reports and Investigation.
Your background
- Extensive experience working in power generation.
- Proven ability to identify and embed improvements to business processes.
- Sound analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Trade Certificate and or formal qualification – either Cert 4 or Diploma in Management, Leadership, or Engineering.

Our operations and maintenance teams are located at Diamantina power station and between the mechanical, electrical, and engineering sections, we take huge pride in keeping the northwest power system (NWPS) reliable at all times.
