We are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to be DP World Container Parks expert on Transport, AQIS and Customs and with a focus on managing transport operational execution to ensure carrier delivery service, cost and safety outcomes.
This role reports to the National Operations Planning Manager and manages a team of Transport Coordinators, Allocators and Truck Drivers.
Key Accountabilities
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Transport Manager to play a leading role in the success of a growing, dynamic business, backed by an industry leading, global company.
With the support of Senior Management, you will utilise your industry knowledge and expertise to drive the business nationally and further develop the Operations function.
The duties of the role will include:
Managing Transport Operations within budget expectations to ensure effective provision of ongoing service including export, imports, stack runs, rail transfer and AQIS related requests
Creating and maintaining positive partnerships with industry partners including Stevedoring terminals and other Container Parks
Management of designated key customers - performance KPIs and being the point of contact
Managing Chain of Responsibility requirements within the division
Managing and leading a team of Transport Coordinators, Allocators and Truck Drivers
Assisting with transport related projects across Australia
Experience, skills and qualifications
The ideal person will have a thorough understanding of Transport and strong team management experience. To be successful in this role, the following knowledge and experience will be required:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Transport with strong understanding of CoR and fleet management
2-3 years’ in Team Management of a transport function
Experience with Transport Management systems
Strong knowledge of Containerchain and 1Stop
Excellent communication and relationship building skills
