About the Opportunity:
In this role you will be the single point of contact for the site. You will work in conjunction with the engineers, feeding back information to aid in the performance and enhancement of the prototypes. You will owns the success of Electrification.
Supervision of the team, which includes various levels of engineers, technologists, and support personnel in one or more geographic location is a key component . You will coach and facilitate the development of the work group to develop collaborative relationships among themselves, with customers, suppliers, other cross functional groups, and internal customers to ensure goals are achieved. Program/project management skills and organizational skills are critical.
- Project scope will vary from a moderate technical focus to a broader, multi-systems focus, and will require the successful candidate to broaden business understanding. Challenges include increased competitive pressure, increasing project complexity and customer demands.
- The ability to draw upon foundational product development skills such as conceptual design, development of product and/or process, data analysis & extraction, failure resolution & prevention, and requirements management is required; as well as, ever increasing skill in technical project management, development of product, internal and external requirements management, and cost-value management. The ability to draw upon knowledge of more than one engineering function, technology, component, system, product, or process is required. This role requires that the successful candidate increases understanding of product technology and process and the customers’ business and needs.
- To make decisions, this position will work with immediate work group or project team, division/business unit, suppliers, internal and external customers, and the market, typically impacting one or more product, process, or factory.
- Decisions may impact an entire product, process or factory and may affect warranty, sales, customer perception, and could have effect of evolutionary change to technology and its application in products or processes at Caterpillar through technology and core competency. In this role you have primary accountability for operating expense budget. The successful candidate will manages on-site relationships, schedule, interactions with mine planning, infrastructure, and maintenance. You will develop relationships, trusted advisors. This role you will be required to be Physically present on customer’s site – 80%+
Background/Experience:
- An accredited Engineering degree or a closely related technical degree
- a minimum 5 -8 years of experience.
- Position requires excellent human relations, interpersonal, and communications skills.
- Highly developed people skills for coaching and leading people.
- Ability to draw upon and ever increasing skills in the Caterpillar Leadership competencies - Be Strategic, Focus on the Enterprise, Global Leadership, Lead Change, Hold Self and Others Accountable, Know your Customer, Build Engagement, and Coach for Development.
