About the Team
The Finance & PMO business unit is one of Arts Centre Melbourne’s core business units. As part of the Operations Pillar, the team collaborates across the organization to support all aspects of Arts Centre Melbourne by developing a creative, capable, responsible, and sustainable organization.
The Role
The primary focus of the Accounts Assistant role is to contribute to operational effectiveness and efficiency by undertaking the following tasks: processing invoices and payment receipts, management of supplier onboarding and set-up (including third party verification check) and providing accounts payable services to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
In addition, you’ll provide support in the administration of Arts Centre Melbourne’s financial delegations, and support users of Arts Centre Melbourne’s expense management system.
This role is essential to provide finance representation in ad-hoc projects and groups to ensure organisational success through strong financial governance, compliance, and vitality.
Full-time, ongoing position. Band 2.3.26 $71,060.00 plus superannuation.
Qualification & Experience
Demonstrated experience in accounts payable management and procurement activities within a medium to large organization
A practical understanding of accounting principles and the application of goods & services tax
Experience in the use of a medium level finance package that interfaces with several key systems
Contribute to continuous review and improvement of current finance procedures and processes to ensure they are clear and efficient
Pursuit of an accounting qualification that meets Australian national framework guidelines such as CPA or CA, Diploma of Accounting, or higher would be advantageous but not essential
Experience in the use of an events management system such as Ungerboeck Software International (USI) would be advantageous.
