knowmore is a nation-wide, free and independent mainstream community legal centre providing legal information, advice, representation and referrals, education and systemic advocacy for victims and survivors of child abuse.
knowmore uses a multidisciplinary model bringing together intake officers, lawyers, social workers and counsellors, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement advisors and financial counsellors to provide trauma-informed, client-centred and culturally safe legal assistance to clients. Role
The Administrator Officer will provide administrative support across range of knowmore’s Human Resources activities including talent acquisition, induction, onboarding, employment variations, HR compliance, and general HR queries. A key part of the role will also be maintaining HR updates and reporting. The incumbent will play a key role in maintaining a professional, timely and effective HR service across knowmore offices.
This role contributes to the successful delivery of knowmore’s HR functions through supporting and reflecting the organisation’s vision and values.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination of recruitment administration which will include arranging job advertisements; preparing documentation for and coordinating candidate interviews; processing reference requests, National Police Records and Working with Children Checks; notifying unsuccessful candidates and monitoring the recruitment email account. Monitoring the Human Resource email inbox, responding to and triaging enquires to team members.
- Actioning contract variation reminders and letters and monitoring and following up contract extensions and probations.
- Administering onboarding, inductions, and offboarding processes for employees.
- Maintenance of employee files and filing systems.
- Collating HR data for audits, external reports and as requested.
- Undertake other administrative and transactional tasks and support HR Manager with other projects as required.
- Provide support to the multi-disciplinary team as requested.
Selection Criteria
- A minimum of one year experience working in a HR support role.
- Previous experience in HR administration with demonstrated ability to learn new systems.
- Excellent HR customer service skills with the ability to action HR enquires/tasks in an efficient, effective and positive manner.
- Previous experience managing responsibilities that require a high level of attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills including the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Be a strong team player with the flexibility to step up and provide support where needed.
- Display knowmore’s core values and be supportive, empathetic, non-judgemental and discreet in all interactions with colleagues
- Practical understanding of government funded NFPs, legislative and industry requirements;
- Demonstrated ability to self-direct, plan and prioritise workload, work within a team environment and proactively manage self-care;
- Advanced computer literacy skills, in particular Office and SharePoint;
