We are a new cocktail and wine bar located in the heart of Melbourne CBD, with a focus on New World and Old World wines, specialty beers, and artisanal spirits. Our commitment to excellence in hospitality and beverage offerings makes this beautiful space a great new home for a hospitality professional looking to put their mark on something!
We have run successful hospitality venues for almost 20 years and while this is a new venue, we are confident we can offer a great work environment, with career growth and good work life balance. Position Overview:
As the Bar Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our beverage offering and staff training. This includes assisting in the curation of a diverse and enticing beverage menu that is current and on trend, managing inventory and ordering, training and supervising staff, and ensuring exceptional customer service.
Your expertise in New World and Old World wines, along with your knowledge of local beer and spirits, will be instrumental in driving our bar's success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive beverage program, with a focus on New World and Old World wines, local craft beers, and artisanal spirits.
- Create and update cocktail menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients, and innovative flavours and techniques.
- Manage inventory levels and ordering to ensure adequate stock of beverages, supplies, and equipment.
- Train and mentor bar staff in product knowledge, service standards, and cocktail preparation techniques.
- Monitor sales and profitability and implement strategies to maximize revenue and minimise waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development among staff members.
- Stay updated on industry trends and developments, and implement best practices to enhance our offerings.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in bar or restaurant management, with a focus on wine and cocktails.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a commitment to exceptional customer service.
- WSET level 2 preferred
