About the Company:

Our client is a privately owned company run by owners and senior management with many years’ experience in the engineering and fabrication of structural steel and framing.

Headquartered in Brisbane and with well-equipped manufacturing facilities in Adelaide and Perth, our client has built its reputation through the support of dedicated, long-serving staff. That continuity, and the expertise of the leadership group, enables consistent delivery of quality products on time.

The group employs more than 100 staff across two operating divisions:

  • One fabricates structural steel components to a wide range of sectors including modular buildings, residential and commercial construction, infrastructure, energy, mining, education and site service.
  • The other manufactures precision designed and engineered light gauge steel frames and trusses for portable, residential and commercial dwellings at a dedicated facility in Brisbane.
About the Role:

Reporting to the Group General Manager and working closely with the company’s Directors, you will focus on the detached and multi-residential sectors, as well as “light commercial” (e.g. aged care and childcare) projects.

You will promote our client’s capabilities across its two operating divisions, and while you will inherit a number of existing, strong relationships, your definite focus will be on identifying, pursuing and managing profitable new relationships across the Queensland and Northern NSW market.

In doing so, you will be strongly supported by experienced, Brisbane-based Estimating teams as well as expert design and project delivery resources.

While some regional travel will be required, it is unlikely to be extensive.

About You:

You are a sales professional with a proven track record of success in building business in the residential construction space in Queensland. This need not be in the structural steel or steel framing sectors.

You bring to the table a structured, disciplined approach to selling and view utilising CRM systems, managing opportunity pipelines and high-quality reporting as essential to sustainable success.

While you are goal-oriented and motivated by achieving and exceeding targets, you understand that success is not achieved in isolation and work hard to build the strong internal relationships necessary to deliver results.
