About the role:
As a Business Development Manager (BDM) you will partner with the senior management team and report directly to the CEO to identify and develop new market opportunities, assessing industry trends, and formulating plans to capitalize on future growth. You will be building and maintaining relationships with potential clients, identifying, qualifying, and cultivating new business opportunities, driving revenue growth, and contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Key tasks aligned to this role will include:
- Identify and develop new market opportunities using research mapping to develop business plans and growth strategies both nationally and internationally.
- Analyse available data to provide insights about existing and potential customers.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with existing customers and those on the pipeline to facilitate development and execution of tailored CVP for each customer.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and senior management team and be the trusted expert of all things sales and revenue growth.
- Develop the professional skillset of the sales team to ensure deep technical understanding of customer requirements.
- Developing lead opportunity management through the teams and reporting on critical drivers and KPI’s.
- Identify business drivers and translate data into key decision supporting insights.
- Advise on long-term business trends and goals to ensure we are meeting customer needs and requirements.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Engage with department heads to actively promote a culture of collaboration and inclusiveness.
About You:
The successful candidate for this position will be an accomplished business manager or sale executive with outstanding people skills, a background in agriculture and extensive experience in driving business performance and value creation.
Furthermore, the successful applicant will have/be:
- Tertiary qualifications with senior leadership experience.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in similar role
- Ability to hit the ground running and deliver results.
- Lead teams with clear objectives and strong team performance.
- Strong organisational, negotiation and sale skills
- Senior leadership and people management expertise
- Customer Focus – understands our customer, constant focus on improving customer experience and makes decisions based on added value for the customer.
