THE ROLE
Reporting to the National Account Manager, our newly created Business Development Manager – Victoria, is responsible for achieving continual sales growth and market share gains in the independent retail channel. This role will be accountable for the Victorian Independent retail network of stores, and play a critical role as the face for Barambah at a store & Tier 3 MSO level. There will be a key element of working cross functionally with the distribution, and customer service teams.
The independent retail channel covers specialty retail and independent supermarkets, and will drive distribution per outlet (DPO), Total Distribution Points (TDP), and increase shelf space across the network for Barambah Organics, and Five:am products.
The key responsibilities of the role are:
- Management of independent supermarkets & Specialty retail stores to grow TDP, DPO, and increase shelf space for Five:am & Barambah organics products.
- Maximise territory coverage and productivity across existing & new outlet base, and continually review and evaluate outlet base
- Management of Tier 3 MSO groups, to grow TDP, DPO, shelf space, and execute promotional & activation plans.
- Assistance managing Tier 1 & 2 MSO groups, and distributors where needed.
- Preparation of weekly plans to achieve sales objectives.
- Partnering with customer service team, and BO direct to store delivery network to improve presence for BO & Five:am brands.
- Improvement in DPO (distribution per outlet) and TDP (total distribution points) for the channel in through the direct to store network.
- Analysis of sales to identify opportunities for new ranges within store.
- Building and developing relationships with your customer base, in order to drive volume growth
- New Product launches – Planning & Execution, and speed to market.
- Monthly reporting on performance, and assistance provided to the NAM on forecasting.

Ideally the successful candidate will have:
- Full Australian Drivers Licence
- Practical experience in FMCG sales or retail
- Experience in field sales, and Business Development, or retail
- Current knowledge of industry, consumer, trade and competitive dynamics
- Strong communication, influencing and relationship building skills
- Analytical and business acumen
- Strong relationship building skills to develop strong store level relationships
- Degree qualified, or equivalent relevant experience.
