The Urban Development team works with key industry partners and stakeholders to facilitate delivery of development projects in a way which maximises economic and community outcomes for the State. These projects include large multi-year residential, industrial and urban renewal development projects (ranging in size from $10m over 1-2 years to $3b over 30 years). EDQ's Development Managers are required to participate in the preparation of, provide input into, and deliver developments consistent with the overarching development strategy.Development Managers are responsible for all front-end activity including planning, design and consultant management; stakeholder consultation; strategic procurement and management; obtaining all approvals (including internal EDQ approvals) and then leading and overseeing the project manager (where appropriate) in terms of contractor procurement, tendering, appointment, construction delivery and ensuring handover to final asset owners.In this role you will:» Lead and manage the planning and delivery of a development or one or more key stages of a large development.» Manage land sales through working with proponents, stakeholders, internal department teams, other government agencies and external agents.» Provide advice on the strategic acquisition, development and/or management of land holdings and undertake negotiations where appropriate.» Manage land holdings, developing and implementing strategies to maximise revenue generation and reduce holding costs.» Effectively manage project staff, consultants and other resources, ensuring appropriate project governance and risk management, adherence to agreed timeframe, budget and quality parameters and the timely review of projects andbenefit realisation.» Foster a working environment which exemplifies professionalism in performance, integrity and respect for people while building team capability by sharing learning and mentoring and coaching other staff.» Manage stakeholder relationships, community engagement, consultation and negotiations with various levels of government, community representatives and development partners to gain general community acceptance and authority approvals for developments and ensure successful delivery and outcomes.» Develop the procurement strategy and oversee the procurement, tender preparation and assessment and contract preparation and negotiation process ensuring that the commercial interests of EDQ are protected.» Analyse and develop recommendations on the feasibility and strategic fit of various operational works and activation activities based on sound technical and economic grounds.» Prepare and present high-quality monthly project reports.» Advocate for and ensure the effective implementation of a zero-harm safety culture.» Accept accountability for compliance with legislative and other governance obligations including departmental and project reporting, executive correspondence and document management.» Travel is a requirement of the role.A detailed Role Description is attached.
