About you:
In your new role you will…
- Demonstrate ability to apply knowledge, skill and expertise in clinical nutrient and dietetic practice across a broad spectrum of clinical areas and service models including delivery of group programs.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, including interpersonal, written, oral, technological and educational and the ability to interact effectively with member of a multi-professional team. Experience in a cross-cultural setting is advantageous.
- Demonstrate ability to prioritise workload and assist with the day to day organisational management of Nutrition and Dietetic Service.
- Demonstrate ability to utilise innovative problem-solving skills to enhance Nutrition and Dietetic service delivery through quality improvement activities.
About your opportunity:
In this position you will deliver clinical services commensurate with level of clinical experience on a rotational basis, in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards. This may include the provision of weekend services as requested. This position may require staff to work across various Cairns Hospital sites including Cairns Hospital, Gordonvale Hospital, the Subacute Facility in Oregon Street and provision of relief to the rural hospital sites across the CHHHS.
About your role:
- Manage an appropriate caseload using high level time management and prioritisation skills including the maintenance of accurate patient records and recording departmental statistics.
- Proportionate with level of experience, apply independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical dietetic tasks, ensuring decision making is in line with evidence-based practice and in accordance with well-established clinical and departmental protocols.
- Be responsible & accountable for the appropriate use or prescription of nutrition & dietetic resources (including enteral nutrition products).
- Work cooperatively and effectively by maintaining timely and open communication (including accurate documentation and reporting) within multi-professional teams, with patients, their families/carers and other health professionals, supervisors, students, food service staff and researchers as required.
