Part time (0.6FTE, 21 hours per week) fixed term until 31 December 2024 with possibility of extensionLismore based opportunity for an Education Support Officer to provide support to the Education Programme for student placementsBase Salary (Pro-Rata) $95,860 - $103,341 + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityThe University Centre for Rural Health (UCRH) is a collaborative academic hub for rural health development, located in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales and is a joint venture between the University of Sydney, Western Sydney University and the University of Wollongong and operates in close collaboration with the Northern NSW Local Health Network and all providers of health services on the NSW North Coast.The UCRH education program encompasses the disciplines of Allied Health, Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry and Medicine, providing students with clinical placement opportunities and structured learning programs in a multi-disciplinary environment, and an immersion in the elements of rurality and social equity.We are currently seeking to recruit an Education Support Officer to coordinate the clinical placements and the delivery of clinical teaching across multiple specialties for medical students while on rural placement with the UCRH.Your key responsibilities will be to:liaise with universities, health services and students to coordinate and support rural clinical placements including long-stay, short stay and electives as required in consultation with the Manager Medical Education and clinical academicsresolve complex student placement matters that arise with discretion, tact and diplomacy, utilising experience and knowledge of University and relevant health service policies and guidelinesbuild and maintain positive relationships with external and internal stakeholdersprovide administrative support for students and staff to enable successful clinical placementscoordinate processes for teaching activities including assessments, examinations, special consideration, and results processing.About youexperience delivering education programs, preferably in a tertiary education environmenthold the ability to work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily workeffective and tactful communication skills (both verbal and written) together with strong problem-solving skillssuperior computer skills, including database maintenance, experience with Microsoft Officehighly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including internal and external customers and suppliers, and University students.To keep our community safe, please be aware of our which form our conditions of entry for all staff, students and visitors coming to campus.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaPlease note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
