The Employment Development Specialist develops relationships with Aspirants, employers, RTO and other stakeholders to secure meaningful, long term employment options for Aboriginal people.
The role involves regular liaison with Program Managers and Real Futures staff as well as working effectively with Government, Employers, Aboriginal Services and Providers to ensure a high level of service delivery and contractual compliance.
A Employment Development Specialists Day can include:
- Business Development, Job Placement & Retention
- Engage in business development to increase opportunities for Real Futures and to promote economic development in the Region
- Build and maintain effective relationships with new and existing employers, community, stakeholders and aspirants
- Negotiate and secure guaranteed employment positions for Aspirants from a range of employers
- Identifying job roles and requirements for guaranteed employment positions
- Compile and forward information for Eligibility checks prior to placing aspirant into employment
- Assist and prepare aspirant with non-vocational support and skills to commence and maintain suitable employment
- Provide mentoring and support to employers and aspirants
- Promote gender equity in workplaces and training facilities
- Facilitate site visits of aspirants commencing employment
- Prepare Good News Stories for Management, reporting and promotional purposes
Please note this is a Max Term Contract
To be considered for this position you will:
- Be able to manage yourself, your workload and work collaboratively with the wider Programs to ensure successful outcomes for participants
- Have the ability to relate to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander People, build rapport and keep them engaged in the service
- Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills
- Demonstrate a high level of digital literacy
- Have experience or the ability to deliver group workshops as well as providing one on one support
- Have strong relationship management skills with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships with employers, service providers and participants
- Previous experience in Employment Services or Sales will be highly regarded

To be considered you will have...
- Eligibility to work in Australia
- A current driver’s licence, a comprehensively insured vehicle, and a good driving history
- Willing to complete a Criminal History Check
- Able to pass a Working with Children Check
- Ability to pass Drug & Alcohol Test
- Ability to travel overnight within NSW
- Ability to work Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 5:00pm
