Sowilo Community High School is a non-government independent CARE school for years 7-12 students. Established in 2001, our purpose is to re-engage educationally at-risk teenagers into life-long learning via holistic, alternative, flexible and individualised processes.
As the Executive Assistant, you will provide highest level secretarial, administrative and organisational support to the Principal. As the first point of contact, you will represent the school in a professional and welcoming manner and effectively communicate with key stakeholders including students, parents/carers, visitors and agencies. You will have understanding, respect and acceptance of all persons regardless of gender, ethnicity, religious affiliation, sexual orientation and gender identity.
Joining a friendly and dedicated group of teachers and welfare workers, this is a newly created position to join the Administration team.
Your duties include:
- Carry out executive and secretarial support to the Principal and Team Leaders
- Assist the Leadership team with preparation of reports
- Prepare professional letters and formal documentation
- Provide document management and coordinate meetings and appointments
- Assist with the consolidation of the Annual Report and other publications
- Manage relevant travel arrangements
- Receive and direct telephone calls, voicemail and email enquiries
- Greet and direct visitors, parents/carers and students at reception
- Ensure a welcoming and inviting environment is maintained
- Other administrative duties as directed by your team leader
Essential criteria:
- Current Working With Children’s Check
- Willing to undertake a National Police Clearance
- Demonstrated experience working in a professional office
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 with exceptional Word skills
- Proficiency in various software applications, e.g., SEQTA; Adobe
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
- Excellent level communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport with students
- Compliance to school policies and procedures
- Willingness to undertake mandatory training with respect to Child Safety
The position is a full time tenure commencing start of term 2, 2024. A generous Salary is offered based on experience and qualifications.
