Finance Officer

Greyhound Racing in Queensland has entered an exciting new phase in 2024 with the amalgamation of the Ipswich Greyhound Racing Club and Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club to form the Queensland Greyhound Racing Club (QGRC). In late 2024 the QGRC will commence transitioning its operations to The Q greyhound racing facility located in Yamanto south-west of Ipswich.

The position will be responsible for managing and maintaining of the financial processes of club. The position has control of all finance functions and manages across all of the sundry day to day finance duties. The position reports to the General Manager – Business Services

Finance

• Accounts Receivable
• Accounts payable including purchase order register maintenance
• Bank Reconciliations
• Month end reconciliations including posting month end journals
• Financial reporting
• Answering finance related queries from customers and suppliers
• Managing payments for superannuation, BAS/ GST, PAYG and other statutory returns as required
• Ensuring all financial functions are being conducted as per policy

• Accounting qualification
• Computer literacy including knowledge of excel and other Office suite programs
• Experience in using MYOB essential
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
