There are three vacancies to be filled within Western Australian Electoral Commission (The Commission) on a fixed term full-time basis with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies within the next twelve months following the endorsement of the recruitment decision. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
WHAT WE DO?
The Commission helps deliver democracy in the State. We conduct State general elections, by-elections, and referenda. We are also engaged by many local governments to conduct their ordinary elections every two years. We also conduct a small number of statutory and non-parliamentary elections for private organisations. Our major election events operate state-wide and involve a temporary workforce in the thousands. All their work is underpinned by the technological systems and processes produced and maintained by the IT Division.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The role of the ICT – Service Desk Officer is to provide and maintain a customer/client focused Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Service Desk services supporting the WA Electoral Commission and its clients in the use of computer hardware, software systems, and corporate applications. This role must respond promptly and efficiently to incidents and service requests and resolve these in a timely and customer-focused manner.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR THE ROLE:
1. 2+ years of experience working in an ICT Service Desk capacity or EndUser Computing Support role in a team with minimal supervision.
2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in using, configuring, deploying,and supporting Microsoft Windows computers and peripherals and Microsoft365 Office suite or later in a corporate environment.
3. Demonstrated skills and experience in:
- managing users in Window Active Directory (AD) & Azure ADenvironment; deploying computers/laptops devices & Apps.
-managing networked devices with proficiency in a relevant systemsmanagement tool such as SSCM, Microsoft Intune, and standalonewindows imaging tools.
-working knowledge of deployment of systems and apps in SCCM andwith Microsoft Intune configuration profiles, and policies.
4. Well-developed problem solving, communication, negotiation andinterpersonal skills including conceptual and analytical skills with ademonstrated ability to build and foster good working and clientrelationships to deliver customer focused ICT support solutions.
5. Well-developed written communication skills with demonstrated ability towrite and update technical and system documents to ensure theconsistency, clarity and ease of use to enable training of users at all levels.
6. Well-developed organisational and time-management skills withdemonstrated ability in prioritising work in a demanding environment andactively participating and collaborating in a team to support and developteam culture.
