Our unit
Under the leadership of the Chief Financial Officer, Financial Services aims to be an enabler of strategy through providing high-quality financial services and products that respond to the changing needs of the business and financial governance and provide tangible and measurable value to the University.
Financial Services covers Corporate Accounting and Treasury, Financial Planning and Reporting, Finance Business Support & Advisory, and Procure to Pay.

The Manager, Research Accounting is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the Research Accounting team. Taking on a role that covers the University and its controlled entities, you would be responsible for maintaining, developing and implementing policies, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely outputs and reports to key stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
Managing around $150 million in research income across the University, this is an exciting and complex role with the opportunity for engagement across various faculties and research divisions.
How will you inspire us
This is a rare opportunity if you are looking for a finance role with a significant focus on research across the University. We are looking for someone with strong technical skills in Research Accounting required for accuracy and completeness of advice. In addition, we need a strong leader who can motivate and manage a team ensuring deliverables are achieved.
You will have:
- Postgraduate qualification or progression towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education.
- Professional membership with CPA, ACCA or CAANZ (or working toward completion)
- Excellent problem solving, communication, interpersonal, analytical and time management skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to lead and develop a team with a focus on maintaining a positive team culture and promoting innovation.
- Proven ability to build relationships and deliver strategic support to a large group of internal customers and senior leaders within a large, complex organisation.

This position will be offered as a HEW 8 full-time permanent role.
The remuneration range is from $107,800 - $125,767 plus 17% superannuation and leave loading.
