A rare opportunity is available for an experienced Specialist Medical Receptionist to join an established Psychiatric practice, located in Burwood. The role is offered on a permanent part-time basis over three days a week (Monday and Tuesday). You will be well supported by an off-site Practice Manager, and an on-site Office Manager as you assist with the everyday running of the practice. Enjoy patient interaction, together with completing all secretarial and administration tasks.

Days/hours:

• Monday - 9.00 am - 5.00 pm
• Tuesday - 9.00 am - 5.00 pm

Duties:

• Meeting/Greeting patients
• Scheduling appointments
• Utilising Primary Clinic medical software
• Editing, formatting, and proofreading letters, and faxes both from dictated and written notes.
• Managing incoming emails, and faxes
• Patient accounts
• Medicare online claims and private health fund claims via Eclipse
• Scanning, posting, emailing, faxing letters and reports
• Follow protocol to manage psychiatric crises either over the phone or in the waiting room when a psychiatrist is not available
• Ensuring all patients have a current referral letter
• Preparation of rooms for doctors each morning

Essentially you possess:

• Previous Medical Reception experience in specialist rooms (preferably within Psychiatric or Psychological practices)
• Primary Clinic Medical software skills (or similar)
• Self-motivation with a mature and professional outlook
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• A high level of empathy and compassion
• The ability to remain calm and professional in a pressured environment
