It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.Join us and unearth your potential in a global company that is at the forefront of shaping the future of the mining industry.The opportunityWe are currently seeking an experienced Underground Mining Manager, who will lead our operations and work towards implementing our Tanami Expansion 2 project shaft in 2025, and will deliver world leading technology and automation in our underground mine.Reporting directly to the General Manager Operations, the Mining Manager is also a member of the site leadership team. The role is ideally suited to a leader who is passionate about creating a culture that celebrates success, drives innovation, who loves to multitask, who collaborates with others to problem solve, and who shows genuine care in providing a safe and respectful workplace for their whole team.The roleAs the Mining Manager at Tanami, you will be key in developing the strategic direction of the Mine Operations and ensure compliance requirements and site targets are met for safety, production, cost, external relations and environmental factors.Leading through upholding Newmont's values, and effective communication, you will support a culture that can easily adapt to change, thrives with innovation, and embraces technology, that supports the plan, and values the safety and wellbeing of all who work to make our operation a success.You will develop team members in their role through; projects, mentoring and by providing meaningful feedback that enables all to reach their potential.The role is also responsible for the development, reporting, control, and monitoring of the Life of Mine budget, ensuring it supports the business plan, as well as the end-to-end management of our business partners, who support the mine.About you

• Bachelor degree in Mining Engineering;
• Hold a current First Class Mine Mangers certificate;
• Have significant experience in Underground operations;
• Proven leadership skills obtained at superintendent level or above;
• Current knowledge of mining technology and innovation;
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative team member;
• Current drivers license; and
• Aligned to Newmont’s vision and values.
