About the organisation and the position
A leading manufacturer of IVD instruments and Research equipment is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join their growing team in Australia. As a key member of the Commercial function, you will have a solid track record in Scientific Sales and Marketing, preferably with strong Laboratory expertise, particularly in Flow Cytometry.
The aim of the role is to increase the awareness of the company’s products amongst clients and KOLs in order to increase sales and reach budget targets. To achieve this, you will need to create and implement strong sales strategies, promotional and scientific activities across the country.
Your mission will include prospecting/Business Development, account management, tendering process, product demonstrations, business negotiations, sales analysis, market trend monitoring and reporting.
The right applicant will ideally possess tertiary qualifications in Life Sciences or other related field. She/he will be highly articulate and willing to play a key role in driving the growth of the organisation in Australia.
Responsibilities
You will need to provide personal input and analysis of the field situation and its specific needs to management. You will be accountable for the successful delivery of the sales/marketing activities in your territory.
Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:
- Sales & KAM
- Business Development
- Promotion of Product Line
- KOL Management
- Providing Scientific & Technical information to customers
- Contract Negotiation
- Sales Performance Analysis
- Monitoring market trends and competitors’ activities
- Reporting
- Other duties as required by Management
Skills and experience
- Tertiary qualified in Life Sciences (or other related field) and/or Business
- At least 3-5 years of Scientific Sales & Marketing experience, especially in the areas of Flow Cytometry/Haematology.
- Laboratory experience
- Strong Negotiation and Analytical skills
- Having appetite/natural flair for chasing new business and acquire new clients
- Successful and consistent track record in Scientific/Laboratory Sales, Marketing, KAM and BD
- Outstanding organisational skills
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
- Result focused
- Excellent self-starter able to work independently, collaboratively and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in exceeding customer needs whilst respecting deadlines
- Being proactive and taking initiatives
- High attention to details
- Must be a citizen/PR of Australia/New Zealand
- Must have full driver’s licence and access to a car
- Ability to be on the road and travel regionally when needed
