About the role
Reporting to the General Manager - New Zealand Feeds & Oils and ideally based out of our Hamilton office, this role sits within the Animal Nutrition NZ management team and will see you work closely with the General Manager & Marketing Manager to create robust and successful sales strategies across the region. Managing a team of 11 direct reports your key responsibilities will include;
- Work closely with direct reports to ensure sales targets are achieved & skills are enhanced
- Support the development & execution of the wider business strategies through customer retention, acquisition and growth
- Increase high value customer numbers using strategic customer acquisition initiatives
- Provide on-farm technical support alongside Regional Feed Partners
- Work closely with the Regional Feed Partners to upskill, acquire new customers, manage key accounts, support of in-field activities
- Manage a customer base & key accounts within agreed region and manage key accounts across the business
- Manage performance of sales an technical teams
About your experience
Our successful applicant will come to us with previous experience in Agricultural sales - preferably within animal nutrition, the dairy industry or similar. Other key criteria to your success will be;
- Proven sales management experience
- A solutions focus – to facilitate development and presentation of “value propositions” to suppliers and customers at all levels
- Demonstrated persistence and resilience in sales and customer relationship management
- Strong Negotiation skills – ability to secure win-win deals and capable of closing long term contracts.
- Strong communication skills (i.e., verbal, listening skills, written, presentations)
- Innovative and out of the square thinker
