Salary: UOM 6 - $92,749 - $100,397 p.a. plus 17% super

About the Role
The Melbourne Integrative Genomics (MIG), hosted by the School of Mathematics and Statistics, seeks a proactive Coordinator to spearhead operational and administrative functions.Supporting a community of 40 members, including graduate students and staff, the role entails organizing events, providing office support, managing finances, updating databases and websites, and fostering a cohesive community within MIG and beyond.Reporting directly to the MIG director, the Coordinator will offer high-quality services, serving as a friendly and reliable point of contact. With a front-facing responsibility, the incumbent is expected to be present at MIG three days a week and actively assist with on-campus events.This role is based in Parkville campus and will be based on campus 3 days per week.Your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting MIG group leaders through management and decision-making to ensure the implementation of strategic programs, events, and compliance with respect to finance and reporting.
  • Coordination of MIG events and workshops, including coordinating program design, room booking, advertising, catering, managing registrations, organising external and internal speakers' schedules, onsite logistics, transport, accommodation, and infrastructure.
  • Respond to queries independently from staff, researchers HDR students, using sound judgment to resolve queries or redirect calls as appropriate.
  • Organise and coordinate the diary where appropriate, including organising appointments, processing enquiries and coordinating meetings for MIG.
Who We Are Looking For
You will possess previous experience in a higher education environment coupled with exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, enabling you to apply sound judgement to deliver tailored solutions effectively.You will also have:
  • A degree with subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the operational aspects of research centres, in relation to working with faculty and university business service providers to bring about effective outcomes;
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop clear project plans and timelines, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and monitor project progress;
