We are seeking a skilled and reliable People and Culture Advisor to join our team based in Collingwood, Vic.
The People and Culture Advisor is responsible for providing accurate and timely HR advice, coaching and support to managers and employees.
Working closely with the Senior Operations Managers and Line managers, this hand on role has you providing support across the business nationally.
The role has a HR generalist focus and will be managing all aspects of HR including recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, ER and IR, coaching and guiding, administration, performance management, and HR reporting.
The ideal candidates will have a strong work ethic, excellent organisational skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Advise Operational Leaders to enable and support them to effectively manage their people through org changes, performance management, conduct matters and general employee relations.
- Build strong, collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support and manage a range of ER/IR matters, end to end, including some that are may be complex in nature.
- Support leaders and employees in the interpretation and adherence to awards and agreements.
- Contribute to and/or lead process improvement initiatives to optimise the leader and employee experience.
- Support the functional area with key People & Culture cyclical activities, i.e. Talent & Succession, Annual Reward Review and Employee Engagement and Pulse Surveys.
- Analyse people trends and metrics and recommend actions - and support future workforce planning strategies and requirements.
- Coach and support our Leaders in resolving employee grievances.
- Support the People & Culture function with ad hoc HR administration as required.
About you:
- Demonstrated experience in a Generalist/HR Advisor role (minimum of 3 years) with a sound knowledge of contemporary HR practices.
- Solid experience in performance management and disciplinary processes, preferably in a fast paced and high-volume environment.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply relevant workplace legislation, providing advice to management and employees.
- Excellent coaching skills at both an organisational and individual level.
- Demonstrated experience in the creation and application of policies and procedures.
- Experience in dealing with difficult stakeholders where empathy and discretion is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- An understanding of and complete commitment to confidentiality.
- Strong computer, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- A positive, fun and "can do" attitude.
