Planning Advisor

A water authority in Melbourne is looking for 4 x Planning advisors to join their team for 12-18 months - casual contracts/full time hours.

• 12-18 month contracts available
• $60-$65 p/h plus super
• 2 days in office/ 3 days working from home
• Laptop provided
• 4 x Planning Advisors
• These roles have been newly created

The role is sitting in the Urban Planning and Design Team.
The selected candidates will be in charge of managing the critical and complex projects as they need more time focused on them.
Management needs assistance with managing the developers, keeping relationships going, leaning on the advisors for advice and recommendations.- The role is a conduit between the Applicant (Developers and Landowners) and Major Projects Team.
- These cases need to be managed as a whole, building relationships, setting expectations with developers, putting the cases together with all the relevant information with recommendations attached to present to the leadership team.
- The candidate must be a good writer, self-sufficient/pro-active, a critical thinker, have good attention to detail, customer service experience, good with managing customers/developers expectations and have a good understanding of the planning systems in VIC.
- The projects are large scale subdivision developments.
Roughly 20 cases to manage per Planning Advisor.Role summary -
Giving advice to the leadership team, writing planning recommendations.
Putting the caseloads together with clear instructions on what needs to be actioned for the leadership team.
Dealing with developers and maintaining/building relationships.
Conduit between Landowners/ developers & MW
Capable and confident in making informed decisions.
Be Diplomatic.
