Job description
We are looking for a Part Time Practice Nurse for our busy general practice. You will have effective communication and decision making skills, able to provide guidance and support to the other nurses if needed. We have a wonderful team of nurses, doctors and admin staff, that all work together in a supportive environment. Our practice is situated in Killarney Vale on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW. The practice is high pressured with twelve practitioners and needs a nurse that is capable to manage very busy workload, with a smile at the end of the day. Provides health care services in accordance with Medicare Benefits Schedule conditions;
Assists with minor procedures undertaken by the general practitioner.
Undertakes health screening and health monitoring activities such as cardiac assessment including Chronic Disease Care Planning and Health Assessments
Involved in chronic disease management activities such as preparing a management plan, coordinating care, providing education about self-help strategies;
Provides timely and accurate information and education
Conducts immunisation, wound care and chronic disease management clinic
Ensures that recall registers, pathology systems and individual and group documentation systems are continuously reviewed to achieve optimal outcomes;
Collaborates with individuals, groups, general practitioners, other general practice staff and health care providers in the development and review of guidelines, protocols or templates;
Monitors infection control processes in the general practice including compliance with sterilisation guidelines;
Participates in practice accreditation processes.
Ensures that process used for cold chain management complies with the current edition of the National Vaccine Storage Guidelines

Observe legislation and Practice Policies and job description.
Observe strict confidentiality of patient records, conversations and situations that occur regarding patient care.
Carry out all lawful directions of the Practice Manager and Principals.
Attend nurse meetings when required
Maintain high standards of personal presentation appropriate to the Practice image.
Report unsafe work practices or suspected corrupt conduct.
Prevent any workplace bullying. Respect and tolerance towards your colleagues and patients.
Admit to the Principals of accountability by accepting personal responsibility for efficient use of time and resources, and the setting of realistic goals and objectives.
