  • flexible workspaces at our Djookanup location in Osborne Park, where you will be able to choose the type of office space that enables you to do your best work.
  • access to activity-based work hubs in the CBD, Fremantle and Joondalup.

About The Roles:

Procurement Officer’s at Finance experience a lot of variety and work closely with a broad range of customers from other government agencies to develop and/or manage contracts for goods and services to help meet community needs. This can range from helping to buy helicopters for Emergency Services and medical equipment for hospitals, to contracting building maintenance contractors to ensure public buildings are repaired and maintained. The work involves working with the key stakeholders to understand what goods or services are needed, what timeframes are involved and to provide advice on how the goods/services can be obtained. Procurement Officers assist with the preparation of contract documents, evaluation of offers and management of contracts. Procurement Officers also help to promote compliance with relevant policies, standards, processes and procedures, and supporting customers to improve their internal practices. These roles learn about the procurement process by managing low risk contracts and the more high risk, complex contracts and managed by more experienced officers.

Project Officer’s also experience working with a broad range of customers on a broad range of construction and maintenance projects. The role of Project Officers are to contribute to and support the larger project teams. These teams comprise of in house and private sector professionals (in project management, engineering, architecture to name a few). The teams work closely to plan, deliver, and administer construction or repair projects for government. This involves planning and managing the project scope and timeframes, resourcing, communicating progress, delays, and risks, and any contractual issues that may arise. This work can involve the analysis of systems, data and trends for reporting and to support the advice we provide our customers. Often these projects need to procure the necessary trades and services needed for construction and maintenance so a Project Officer also contributes to the procurement process, working closely with those teams. As with the Procurement Officer roles, these Project Officer opportunities manage the less risk, complex projects. However, career paths can lead to the project management of high risk, complex construction and maintenance/repair projects across Western Australia.

About You:

If you enjoy variety and are interested in starting a career in the construction and/or procurement industries, these opportunities may be for you. We need people who are pro-active, organised and can manage a diverse workload and deliver great outcomes; people who can establish and maintain productive working relationships with a broad range of customers working in a range of industries (health, education, law and order, and other general public services). These roles also suit people who are analytical and enjoy problems solving, and have sufficient computer proficiency to complete administrative duties, write reports, and other professional documents. If you don’t have project or procurement experience, you may have skills or knowledge that would transfer well to these opportunities.

On the job training is provided.
