Position Overview
The Purchasing Administrator is essential to the continued growth of Welding Solutions and we are currently seeking a customer focused team member who can work closely with stakeholders both internally and externally.
The successful candidate will be able to work closely with the internal Welding Solutions team to understand all operational and general business purchasing requirements and will translate and communicate those requirements to suppliers with responsibility through all stages of the purchasing process. Effective purchasing activity helps drive business success and on-time delivery to customers and as such, is considered a key role for the right candidate.
The role is new for the business and being a flexible new member of our highly capable team, you’ll be essential in ensuring that all purchasing activity across the business operates as required with a high focus on materials and parts for internal operations and spare parts for external customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for all purchases across the business including raw materials and consumables for operations, parts and services required by the business
- Purchasing of parts for internal operations and spare parts for external
- Assist with parts sales and process orders as required or In the Parts Interpreter’s absence
- Helping to define required stock levels of key purchased items.
- Ensuring all spare parts inventory is correct with clear product re-order points established
Skills and experience
- Must be self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude
- Essential to be able to work effectively in a positive and flexible team environment
- Motivated by helping to achieve or surpass customer delivery commitments
- Able to work to agreed deadlines to ensure business delivery performance
- Focused on questioning and improving the purchasing process with a continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- Must be computer literate with competent use of Excel and word and basic accounting and inventory management software knowledge
