SalaryAs a Quality Engineer, you will be based in Clayton, Victoria, and report to the Quality Assurance Manager. You will support quality functions in Operations and drive quality improvement plans to improve efficiency and lower costs. You will also ensure QC Quality Systems are compliant with ISO9001, and APAS and are in line with customer and market requirements.
Responsibilities
- Administer Quality Management System in Plant C.
- Assist and support the development/improvement of quality standards and procedures for Plant C.
- Ensure all equipment is calibrated and fit for purpose.
- Maintain and ensure systems and processes are in place to ensure calibrations standards, external and third-party part calibrations, lab consumables, etc are sustainable.
- Aid to set up databases and SharePoint sites following ISO9001.
- Conduct and participate in RCAs attributable to defective batches.
- Carry out a range of auditing activities related to ISO 9001, APAS, EHSMS, 5S, etc.
- Responsible for the Laboratory 5S program.
- Preparation of reports and data to support PLANT C Operations.
- Support operators to resolve problems or clarification during manufacturing, testing, and filling processes.
- Troubleshooting QC Testing issues and providing technical guidance to the QC testers to ensure production flow continues.
- Assist R&D in resolving customer complaints.
- Work to reduce manufacturing costs through enhancement of key KPIs (RFT, RST, No of Moves)
- Help review processes to optimize production requirements and reduce waste.
- Request Technical to Establish Rework Production Versions are created and communicated to Planning.
- A degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- Formal qualification in laboratory management, quality assurance, or problem-solving is well regarded.
- Working knowledge of ISO, APAS, and quality systems knowledge advantageous.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in surface coatings or related fields with experience in dealing with multiple.
- Market laboratories and in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of Statistical Process Control and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Good colour knowledge.
- Good understanding of quality assurance requirements and the disciplines required to maintain ISO9001 and APAS.
