Position: Receptionist/Administrator – Fixed Term Maternity Leave Position (12-months, with potential for ongoing).
Location: Maiden Gully Early Years Hub, Bendigo
Hours: Part-time - Up to 30.50 hours per week

The Maiden Gully Early Years Hub (‘Hub”) is a 152 place kindergarten and childcare centre that has been in operation since early 2021. The education and wellbeing of children is fundamental to everything that we do. About the role:
The Receptionist / Administrator will perform general reception and administration duties as part of the Maiden Gully Hub (Hub) administration team. Central to the role is to act as the first point of contact for both families and visitors to the Hub.
The capacity to build and maintain strong professional relationships and respectful partnerships both internally and externally is essential to this role, as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for both families and visitors to the Hub.
- Greet and direct visitors to the service.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, Allied Health partners, Educators and community members.
- Ensure a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, creating a positive first impression for the organisation.
- Answer all inbound calls and conduct calls in a professional manner ensuring callers (internal and external) are directed and assisted in a timely manner
- Ensure that reception and foyer areas including meeting areas, are maintained in a professional and organised manner and meet legislative requirements
- Proficiently deal with email enquiries
- Auditing and ordering of supplies and resources weekly
- Weekly audit and order of supplies, stationery and cleaning products
- Arrange document shredding bin to be emptied as required
- Maintain staff locker and key register
- Accurate data entry and filing ensuring confidentiality at all times
- Support the booking and enrolment process,
- Collaborate with other Administrators to ensure consistent practices across the Hub.
- Address complaints or direct to the appropriate contact
- Other general reception and administration tasks as directed by the HUB management
About you:
The successful candidate will have a passion to educate children and work in a collaborative manner with their colleagues. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their professionalism, flexibility, leadership, ability to work with others and to foreground First Nations perspectives in their pedagogy and practice.
- Experience and qualifications in Business & Administration, reception or scheduling
- Experience in the Early Years Management sector is desirable but not required
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills and outstanding customer service skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of Qikkids is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
- Working With Children’s Check
- A satisfactory Police Check (which needs to be maintained at all times).
- Current First Aid HLTAID012 or willing to obtain
