The Opportunity
This is a recruitment position responsible for coordinating the end-to-end recruitment and selection process across all departments in council.
As a forward-facing and customer-centric role, the Recruitment Officer will be the first point of contact for internal and external candidates while providing quality and professional advice to line managers.
We are seeking an experienced recruiter to support and enable Council with their expertise and competencies.

About Us
Banana Shire is situated in Central Queensland, Australia located 120 km west of the growing industrial city and port of Gladstone - and an easy drive to the city of Rockhampton. Our population is approximately 15,000 people spread over 28,577 square kilometres. Major industries include Coal Mining, Power Generation, Beef Production, dryland cropping and irrigation such as lucerne and cotton.
About You
This position will require a good understanding of recruitment practices and principles. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and have excellent communication skills. Local Government knowledge is desirable, however, it is not essential!
Eligibility requirements
To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate or possess:
- A Certificate III in Business or equivalent experience in a similar role
- Queensland C class driver's licence
- High level of confidentiality
- Sound understanding of and commitment to EEO and WHS principles and practices
- To be considered for this position, you must have adequate unrestricted rights to work in Australia
