Safety Health and Emergency Response Advisor- Rosebery Mine, TasmaniaAbout the roleReporting to the Manager Safety, Health, Training & Security, the Safety, Health & Emergency Response Advisor will assist in the provision of safety and health leadership in the field, promoting site compliance with corporate and site safety and health standards, implement safety directives that improve safety performance and support emergency preparedness and response.With demonstrated safety, Health and Emergency Response experience within a mining environment, you will have well-developed skills and personal attributes including the following:

Minimum of Cert IV qualification and complimentary certificates in WHS or equivalent.Trainer and Assessor Cert IV - desirableSecurity Licence - desirableDrug and alcohol testing training - desirableCert IV Health Care (Ambulance) or equivalent - desirableFull manual Driver's licenseWorking knowledge of the applicable legislation - Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act and Regulations (Tasmania) and Mines Work Health and Safety (Supplementary Requirements) Regulations.Experience as an Emergency First Responder at all levels - Cert III desirable.Exposure to Health and hygiene programsAbility to communicate effectivelyProficient with MS Office

This is a great career opportunity for a motivated Safety Health & Emergency Services Advisor who is looking to expand their capabilities within a supportive team environment.This is a residential permanent position working on a 5:2/4:3 roster either residential in Rosebery or Drive in/Drive out (DIDO) from Tasmanian locations.Key responsibilities will include:

Support the Rosebery Operations to create and maintain a safety culture that fosters continual improvement of systems and contributes to an injury free workplace.Support, promote and implement health programs, systems and initiatives in conjunction with the Occupational Health Nurse (OHN)General Safety, Health and Emergency Response Advisor duties such as reporting, incident investigations, risk assessments, safety document management, planning and supporting emergency scenario training, equipment checks and maintenance of emergency systems.Maintain safety, health, security and Emergency Response policies, procedures and safety practices in line with relevant legislation.Provide support to Supervisors, Superintendents in risk management and safety processes, including timely incident reporting in the Incident and Event Management System (IEM), review of safety information, resolution of complex safety issues with stakeholders. and coaching for improvement.Conduct and coordinate employee safety, Health and Emergency Response training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, selection and use of safety equipment.Facilitate and/or support investigations for incidents, near misses, and occupational illnesses and exposures to determine causes, install preventative measures and SMART actions to mitigate the risk or recurrence.Actively participate in Health and Safety Committee meetings and assist to implement initiatives. Provide information and guidance to Safety representatives.Provide support for periods of leave and afterhours management of injuries and emergencies.Undertake tasks and initiatives to support the OHN and Emergency Services Co-ordinator as required. Tasks may include workers compensation management and return to work plans, emergency evacuation drills, basic ambulance awareness training, site entry and administration control (SEAC)
