Aboutthe Department for Correctional Services
The Department employsapproximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisonsand fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Ourvision is for a safer community by protecting the public andreducing re-offending. Duties
The Senior InvestigationsOfficer is accountable to the Manager Audit, Risk andInvestigations for conducting investigations into serious incidentsor matters of concern, both legal and procedural across the fullspectrum of the Department's programs including critical incidentssuch as deaths in custody, escapes, riots as well as employeemisconduct and complaints. This includes providing comprehensiveand factual assessments and/or reports that can be scrutinised byexternal review agencies including Criminal and Civil Courts,Independent Commission for Against Corruption, and the SouthAustralian Employment Tribunal.
SpecialConditions
- Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial
- The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National crirninal History Check;
- A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential;
- A flexible approach to working hours is required;
- Some out of hours work may be required;
- Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required which may necessitate overnight absences.
Requirements
