About Tronox

We are seeking bright and brilliant people to join our team.

We are a fully integrated titanium minerals producer and pigment manufacturer. Across our Australian operations, we extract and process rich mineral sands into a range of valuable products including ilmenite, zircon, rutile and titanium dioxide pigment which are then exported to international markets.

Our sites are part of the global operations of Tronox Limited, the world’s leading integrated manufacturer of titanium dioxide.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Process Shift Operator to join our team at Tronox’s Australind Pigment Plant.

This unique roster will see the Shift Operator working 12 hour Day / Night Shifts on a Sportsman roster. In this roster there are no more than 3 shifts in a row with a maximum of 7 shifts in the fortnight. This is a rotating roster where after 16 weeks of shift, there will be 4 weeks of paid block leave.  A training day, once every 4 weeks is also factored into the roster.

Key responsibilities of the Shift Operator

  • Monitor and control plant processes and equipment to maintain optimal operation and adherence to standard procedures.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain process equipment, including pumps, valves, and control systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, conduct safety inspections, and respond to safety incidents or emergencies.
  • Coordinate with production supervisors and planners to prioritize production schedules and optimize output.
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, process parameters, and equipment maintenance tasks.
  • Identify and troubleshoot process issues, equipment malfunctions, and production bottlenecks.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements initiatives. Actively participating in continuous improvement projects and initiatives.

The Ideal candidate will demonstrate

  • Mechanical Skills: Basic mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and equipment for routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs.
  • Technical Aptitude: Previous experience in operating, maintaining and monitoring process equipment (experience with control systems advantageous)
  • Problem-solving Abilities: Aptitude for identifying and resolving process issues, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Safety Consciousness: Competent in the usage of JHAs, Step Back 2x2 / Take 5s, along with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability follow Standard Operating Procedures, to ensure product quality and correct usage of equipment.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing production requirements, priorities, and schedules, and willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Upskill: Desire and willingness to participate and complete training modules.

TO BE ELGIBILE YOU MUST

  • A Nationally accredited forklift ticket
  • Have unrestricted working rights within Australia, (Sponsorship and visa’s with restrictions are not available
  • Live within 45 mins from Australind, due to the 12 hour shifts.
