Coastal Digestive Health prides itself on being a gastroenterology centre of excellence. We specialise in the diagnosis and management of complex and chronic disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and use state of the art diagnostic and treatment tools.
Our concept is unique to the Sunshine Coast as we are the only gastroenterology practice to offer a highly skilled multidisciplinary team specialising in all aspects of gastroenterology.

Our team consists of adult and paediatric gastroenterologist, a hepatologist, an IBD Nurse Practitioner, a GP, a nurse, a dietician, a research nurse, research study co-ordinators and a department manager.
Coastal Digestive Health provides personalised care to patients and their families and aid in developing individualised treatment plans to address each person's digestive issues. It is located in Maroochydore in a purpose built centre boasting décor that is warm and inviting making patients feel comfortable and relaxed when they visit.
About the Role
You will provide vital support to all of our consultants together with other members of the front office staff. This role includes but is not limited to the following:
- Provide friendly patient customer service both in person and via the telephone
- Carry out all aspects of administration as needed
- Manage patient billings and bookings, liaising with Medicare and other healthcare funds, produce surgery fee estimates, organise and coordinate theatre lists
- Ensure the smooth running of the reception area
- Respond to a variety of requests with a matter or urgency and confidentiality
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure is vital as this is a very busy practice.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate should possess the following experience and skills (cover letter should include responses to these criteria):
- Preferred experience with medical software programs (Genie)
- Previous experience in a similar role as a Medical Receptionist ideally with a background working with a specialist practice or hospital
- Exceptional computer literacy for a paperless system
- Evidence of highly developed organisational skills AND analytical skills
- Have outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
