The Event and Engagement Manager is responsible for creating and delivering all fundraising events and stakeholder engagement activities for the division.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Alongside the State Manager create a suite of fundraising events and engagement activities for stakeholders meeting financial targets and enables our purpose of increasing the number of bedrooms available for youth homelessness services.
- Identify and secure sponsors for all events and manage contract deliverables.
- Build strong relationships and develop engagement plans with stakeholders demonstrating continual growth.
- Project manage engagement activities such as worker bees and charity drives.
- Lead and manage volunteers, Future Leaders and event committees.
The Event and Engagement Manager is a significant member of staff who adds value to the organisation by providing innovative networking and engagement opportunities to enhance fundraising and commercial outcomes.

Key Accountabilities:
Event and Sponsorship Management
- Create events calendar consisting of a mixture of corporate networking events and peer to peer fundraising events.
- In liaison with State Manager, develop event budgets for all events and fundraising activities.
- Create event plans/briefs and timelines and communicate these to marketing/comms and support teams.
- Manage all events from concept through to delivery.
- Create runsheets and speech notes.
- Create and or coordinate the design of visuals for events as required.
- Brief speakers.
- Manage production crews.
- Create sponsorship proposals and invoices.
- Identify and secure sponsors meeting sponsorship budgets for each event.
- Manage and meet all sponsor deliverables as outlined in their contracts.
- Manage suppliers and contractors ensuring contractual agreements are delivered and invoices are paid.
- Manage and communicate any risks associated with events.
- Drive peer to peer fundraising events with marketing and communications team.
- Manage budgets and provide event forecasts regularly.
- Manage all event administration associated with each event.
- Secure and coordinate all events and fundraising volunteers.
- In collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, collate a post event wrap-up report for every event and distribute it to the wider team highlighting lessons learnt and outcomes.
Donor Engagement Management
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of donor portfolio from all engagement activities.
- In partnership with State Manager, execute engagement strategy for donors in portfolio.
- Develop and invest in relationship building skills.
- Present to donors engagement activities and opportunities.
- Develop innovative ways for donors to engage and fundraise particularly around the Hard Hat campaign.
- Data mining in RE and engagement plans and spreadsheet updated regularly.
Working Bees
- Liaise with Charity partners and identify and secure worker bee projects in line with our charter.
- Lead and secure donors and pro bono partners for worker bees.
- In liaison with a volunteer project manager, design, scope and resource worker bees.
- Report and manage any associated risks.
- All pro bono or in kind services recorded.
- Marketing and comms and PR teams briefed with plans and messages in place and executed.
Committees Management
- Attend all Committee meetings and record all minutes in VIC.
- Contribute to Committee reporting as required.
- Manage the Future Leaders committee and any other event committees as required.
- Committees along with chairs are confirmed, charters are distributed and objectives and purpose understood.
- Meetings are scheduled with agendas and attachments circulated and filed.
- Committee members are engaged with engagement plans in place for each person/company.
- Encourage committee members to advocate on our behalf and bring more donors on board and increase event participation.
- Demonstrate leadership and encourage a strong culture of innovation in stakeholder engagement, fundraising and management by continuingly improving engagement activities, events, processes and governance.
Marketing and Communications
- In liaison with Marketing team and State Manager, contribute and provide direction to Marketing and Communication plans for all events, stakeholder, and project campaigns.
- Supply the Marketing and Communications team with content and information as required/requested.
Leadership and Culture

- Participate in internal working groups which contribute to improving and maintaining positive culture.
