ABOUT THE ROLE:
Summary of the role: Our supportive Gynaecology Department are seeking two friendly, enthusiastic and dynamic Administrative Officer's to assist with their growing team, including managing, processing and reading referrals. You will be working closely with our clinical team to ensure patient care is met at the highest of standards. You will be required to have good attention to detail with the ability to adapt to competing priorities and stay focused in a fast-paced environment.
Located in the Outpatients Department at Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg
x2 Permanent Part Time positions, each position 38hrs per fortnight - Hours 10am to 6pm:
Week 1: Mon, Tue, Wed (Position 1) and Thu, Fri (Position 2)
Week 2: Mon, Tue, Fri (Position 2) and Wed, Thu (Position 1)
Waitlisting and validating patient referrals, prepare patient schedules, booking and rescheduling appointments and clinics, and following up on patient results, and generate patient medical certificates.
Diary management of Clinician's planned and unplanned leave
Greeting and assisting patients, answering telephone calls and responding to email enquiries.
ABOUT YOU:
Our ideal candidates will have had prior experience in similar administrative support roles, including experience in MS Office systems to support administrative tasks.
Sound knowledge of medical terminology and hospital procedures is preferred.
Must have excellent phone and email etiquette and a high level of customer service skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills and can effectively communicate with patients, clinicians and management
Exemplary written and verbal communication skills as well as excellent listening skills
Must have reputable time management skills and ability to complete tasks promptly
Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision and in a team environment

Mercy Hospital for Women is a fully accredited Level 6 Public Specialist Teaching Hospital providing both public and private patient care through maternity services, neonatology and paediatrics, perioperative services, gynaecology, women's health and associated health, support and diagnostic services.
