The role
We have a passion for customer centricity in all things we do, and our continued growth has created an opening for a Business Development Manager, specialising in new business (alongside a little account management). The role requires a trained sales professional, and passionate hunter, who can quickly establish strong relationships and close deals – fast! You will be skilled in Software Sales and possess Veterinary or Pet industry experience (not mandatory).
You will be responsible for hunting out new opportunities and building a strong pipeline of leads; before the important part - converting them into new customers, by utilising a relationship building, and consultative sales approach. You’ll be a hungry, and energetic go-getter; striving to exceed agreed targets, and driven to push your career onto new levels.
Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Build strong and long-lasting relationships with prospects, clients and colleagues alike
- Build good product and industry knowledge
- Obtain leads through your network, social media, and ad campaigns and convert using Hubspot CRM
- Attend industry events, seminars, trade shows, new venue openings and by cold calling
- Conduct calls…lots of calls to relevant prospects and clients
- Build strong lead base, and covert into new customers
- Conceptually sell VetlinkPro and add-on products to new name clients
- Ensure smooth transition and onboarding of clients by working with the onboarding team
- Continually feed our onboarding team with new projects
- Work with Product Owners to identify new opportunities and features
- Build and maintain client relationships and network with potential clients
- Meet targets quarterly and annually
- Assist with customer care inquiries and forecasts for our Sales team
About you
- Prior Software Sales experience - within the industry would be highly regarded
- Relevant professional sales training would be an advantage
- You have strong negotiation skills with the ability to close new deals
- You are a natural communicator, and well presented - people warm quickly to you
- You can show initiative and are self-motivated
- You’re resilient and persistent with the ability to overcome obstacles setbacks, and learn new skills
