We currently have a vacancy for a newly created Business Development Manager role based at our Parramatta Office. The purpose of this role is to increase revenue by generating and developing new business opportunities to support the company’s commercial objectives.
Reporting directly to the Divisional Director, you will be responsible for exploring and securing new and profitable business/clients within the warehousing, transport, and freight forwarding space. This position is all about building and maintaining relationships therefore it requires a confident, focused individual who understands the demands of Business Development within this highly competitive industry.
Key responsibilities:
- Contribute to the Division’s business growth strategy development.
- Leverage relationships with existing customers to identify sales opportunities.
- Attend industry functions/conferences to network to establish new and maintain current customer relationships for future business.
- Undertake research to identify new business opportunities, including new clients, or products and services.
- Collaborate with other Divisions to identify and pursue potential opportunities/leads.
- Develop and present detailed proposals for review and approval by appropriate management
- Develop and maintain an administrative log of current and potential customers
About you:
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing, business, commerce or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a Business Development capacity within the warehousing, transport, and freight forwarding sector.
- A strong track record in successfully identifying new business opportunities and developing customer relationships
- Demonstrated high level influence, negotiation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- High level customer relationship management capability
- Ability to analyse data to develop and deliver presentations and proposals
- Demonstrated capability to analyse data to evaluate opportunities
- High level competency in the utilised of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly excel
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment whilst ensuring quality and compliance is maintained
- Strong business acumen, and ability to work with financial data
