To support our growth and development within Australia, an exceptional senior state position has become available in NSW for a BDM in the Retailer/Distributor channel. Through strong partnerships with Resellers and Distributors, the successful candidate will service key Resellers / Distributors with specific technical solutions in paint and Coatings Applications and surface preparations for the DIY, residential, commercial, mining, marine, industrial, and agricultural equipment, roadmaking, airports, shopping centres, manufacturing and furniture coatings etc.
Reporting to the National Sales Manager in Melbourne, the position is based in the NSW area. This person will have total responsibility for the following…..
- Achievement of Sales and Profitability budgets for NSW/ACT.
- Strategic planning and implementation of the immediate and future supply of Wagner, Titan, and other related brands.
- The development of key relationships within the market.
- The management of pricing, supply, stock availability, service levels, and after-sales or product information with the support of National Customer Service.
- Training and product demonstration for retail & trade staff and end-users.
- Executing Merchandising and Promotional Programs
- Preparation of quotations within established guidelines and policies.
- Positioning the Wagner and Titan brands and managing the important relationships with associates, resellers and distributors and contractors.
- In conjunction with the national sales force, manage key relationships, presentations, service calls and new business proposals.
- Market Analysis/ Competitive Intelligence/ Business Strategy.
This position will ideally suit a person who is efficient and organised, able to work well autonomously with a National team whilst leveraging a larger team (globally), and be able to demonstrate the following:
- Ability to navigate a fragmented market and pursue opportunities by focusing and carefully prioritising time to achieve sustained growth.
- Technical product aptitude. Knowledge of paint and coatings, plus application solutions in the contractor, industrial and commercial markets.
- Ability to relate and engage at all levels.
- Exceptional Presentation, Communication, and Analytical skills.
- Managing and representing Wagner at state trade events.
- Delivering the Wagner van sales and representation program.
- Maximising Wagner national account programs.
- Proven high quality strategic and business planning, including yearly state plan and monthly activity planning.
- Highly organised with the ability to focus, prioritise, plan and work well remotely with regular travel as an integral part of the role.
- Thorough understanding of the coatings and application industry.
- A strong sense of accountability and a desire to accept responsibility for business outcomes and a track record of working successfully with marketing, finance, and operations colleagues.
- IT proficiency including, Sales CRM and planning PowerPoint and spreadsheeting competence.
- An aptitude for understanding, presenting and demonstrating technology-based equipment
- Key Account Management skills.
The position requires travel within NSW and ACT (up to 5 days a month).
