Their custom built timber and plastic pallets offer an affordable, fast solution to B2B material transportation needs. Their products are made to custom specifications with quality workmanship and detail with quick, reliable service. A newly created opportunity is available to join this local manufacturer as part of an exciting growth phase for the company.
Your new role
The Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in driving sales and business growth. This position involves building strong partnerships and relationships with existing and potential customers to achieve revenue, sales, and profit targets.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Prospecting and Research: Identify and research prospective clients through phone calls, travel, attending conferences, and utilizing company resources.
Market Expansion: Recommend strategies for developing new markets and identify growth opportunities.
Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the National Sales Manager to develop and implement effective sales and business strategies.
Strategic Planning: Create short and long-range plans to achieve business objectives.
Customer Engagement: Maintain close contact with customers to understand their expectations and gather insights for strategic planning.
Presentations: Coordinate impactful presentations to highlight our capabilities and drive Business Development.
Tender Quotations and Contracts: Evaluate requests for quotations, coordinate tender proposals, and estimate new contract requirements.
Market Insights: Monitor industry trends, assess market status, and forecast opportunities for future business growth.
Quality and Safety: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and adhere to occupational health and safety standards.
What you'll need to succeed
Industry experience and a sales background in timber, logistics/materials handling or freight is highly desirable.
Ability to seek out business opportunities and close deals effectively.
- A hunter mentality and the drive and tenacity to be competitive and getresults
Understanding of financial aspects related to Business Development.
Strong written and oral communication, including excellent interpersonal skills.
Effective planning and organization skills
Ability to deliver compelling presentations.
Efficiently manage tasks and priorities.
- Full unrestricted Australian work rights and a valid drivers licence are essential
